Advances in next generation sequencing technologies have allowed researchers to obtain and analyze thousands or millions of sequencing reads simultaneously. Management of these projects requires implementation of automatic pipelines and tool suites operated by expert bioinformaticians committed to simultaneously manage, edit and analyze multiple distinct genes/proteins and other genomic features such as repeat variations, mobile genetic elements, domains, exon-intron segmentation, ontology, complexity, etc.

Gypsy Database PROfessional (GPRO) is a powerful software oriented to both industry and academy researchers working on functional analysis of DNA/RNA and protein sequences, sequence editing and database creation and management.

GPRO is a multifunction bioinformatic platform consisting of installable software coupled online with an omic pipeline installed on a high-end computing server hosted at the Gypsy Database (GyDB) of Mobile Genetic Elements. The combination “software-pipeline” implements a powerful annotation management system allowing you to run intensive computational jobs in remote private sessions, as well as to map, annotate and analyze multiple distinct sequences simultaneously using the most common tools and biological vocabularies.

GPRO also implements a suite of tools providing simplicity and versatility to tasks as diverse as management of files and folders, molecular analysis of DNA/RNA and protein sequences editing, translation and analysis of sequences up to two Gigabases, data-mining and sequence tagging.
